Oleg Kirnos is a Ukrainian artist who was born in Dnepropetrovsk (now Dnipro, Ukraine) in 1965, where he lives and works to this day. He began to consciously use paints, draw and sculpt in his distant childhood. At that time, he actively participated in various competitions and exhibitions.
When he was a child, the magic of colorful strokes, graphic strokes, sculptural plastics, and artistic fantasies fascinated and mastered him for life.

Having matured, Oleg was engaged in the visual arts but not aiming to sell his work. This made it possible to achieve some kind of pure non-commercial creativity, excluding the thought of how much money he would earn when creating artworks. In addition, he did not expose them, remaining a critic to himself, so that the opinion of professional critics, for the time being, would not “put pressure on the psyche”, which made it possible to achieve internal integrity and independent formation of technique and taste.
Oleg Kirnos was educated as a metallurgical engineer. Engaged in the development of metallurgical technologies and production. Making a living by running a manufacturing business, he returned with some trepidation to the world of art, as to a parallel reality and splashed here emotions that arose in a very difficult life.
Any artist is distinguished from the general mass of artists by not only technique but also his fantasy, imagination, and the courage of their embodiment in his works. Oleg tries to combine this with certain aesthetics and moderation, a desire for brevity. Following the principle of “everything in its own time”, having created a gallery of his works, having gained strength and formed as an artist, he wanted to present his works for review and evaluation by specialists.
He creates paintings, sculptural and graphic artworks, but most of his work, especially at the present time, is devoted to sculpture. It is worth noticing that Oleg Kirnos most often creates sculptural artworks from ceramics. Not being limited by stylistic devices, depending on how he perceives and how he sees the depicted objects, how he transforms visual images within himself and depicts them in this manner.

Despite the fact that Oleg does not limit himself to any specific stylistics and themes, he is closest to post-impressionism and postmodern trends. To create paintings, as a rule, he uses oil paints. Oleg is interested in contemporary art, the development of which he follows. She often uses new materials and modern techniques and approaches, especially when creating interior design work. Most of my works are presented on the website kirnosgallery.com.
Oleg Kirnos has no art education. Despite the fact that he has been engaged in artistic creation all his life, he received a technical education that allows him to navigate well in metals and alloys, ceramics and glass, glazes and enamels, as well as independently create these materials and products from them. Due to the nature of his professional activity, Oleg had to develop and manufacture ceramics for rocket engines, welding fluxes, enamels, special alloys, and coatings, which prompts him to actively use these developments in his work.
The range of his interests is wide and varied. Oleg is interested in questions of cosmology and structure of matter, physical and chemical processes, history and religion, psychology and economics, literature and fine arts.
He is confident that his works are original and quite recognizable. In his work, he strives to ensure that they are dynamic and convey emotions. They reflect the perception of the world of Oleg Kirnos, fantasies, and impressions of the events taking place. Of particular interest to him are a person, his inner world, and his relationships with other people. This prompts Oleg to work on portraits. At the same time, he really likes to portray nature, going out into the open air. Oleg often fantasizes about various topics, including creating abstract artworks.
Oleg Kirnos rarely participates in exhibitions and competitions, but recently he has shown interest in this. There was a desire to promote his artworks in the art market. Since 2018, he has taken part in several exhibitions and competitions, and in 2019 he created an art studio, in which decorative and applied artworks are created on the basis of his sculptural artworks.
